it rly is weird how theres this culture in progressive spaces where like you can be as mean, as CRUEL even, as you want as long as youre not being explicitly bigoted towards any marginalized group of people and still be seen as a really good person with good morals who nobody is allowed to have beef with bc theyve never done anything racist or homophobic

this culture enables actual abuse. ive seen progressives engage in gaslighting, guilt-tripping, stalking, harassment, witch hunts, death threats, rape threats, and suicide baiting. these abusers are protected by the idea that marginalized people cannot be abusive and that any criticism of the behavior is  “problematic” or tone-policing. the behavior likely emerged as a reaction to tone-policing, respectability politics and moderate liberalism, swinging the pendulum to the opposite extreme of aggressive callout culture and groupthink. i also think many progressives are marginalized + disempowered in mainstream society and cope by replicating the same patterns of abuse in a microcosm where they have clout

The notes on this ad are fucking disgusting tbfh. Humans as a species would not have adapted to become gay or bi for no reason. It’s an adaptation that helps keep the population alive because same gender couples who cannot sexually reproduce (not counting sg couples where one is trans) can adopt orphaned kids. Same with infertility. It’s a means of preventing overpopulation AND providing parents to orphaned children. We, as a species, do not need to have children right at this moment. There is an overwhelming amount of children in foster care and orphanages who NEED parents, whether those parents are sg parents or parents who cannot reproduce. So the “majority” is straight (which I doubt, because bisexuality is a thing and so is internalized homophobia, which prevents people from even acknowledging that they aren’t straight), but that doesn’t make it the default and you shouldn’t assume that your kid isn’t lgbt. All you angry straights can fuck off.

Yeah heads up you guys if you decide to look through the notes of the Love Simon ads, be prepared for a lot of homophobia. Lots of people to block unfortunately.

Of all the vareties of leftist anti-Semites, I think my favourites (i.e. THE WORST) are the ones who have convinced themselves that all claims of anti-Semitism are actually some sort of strategic Zionist plot to derail the Palestinian cause to the point where they actually believe being anti-Semitic is some sort of moral imperative for the sake of justice, so you’ll get a situation where I, a Jewish person of South Asian descent will say something like “I hope all anti-Semites have a terrible day!” and then some 22-year-old white boy in Bradford will be like “Wow, just say you hate all brown people and leave.”
