tbh hhyd has one of the best scores in film history. miss me with that “oh the social network was so good” no. i STILL have the httyd soundtrack on my ipod. it’s so good i get emotional listening to test drive every time i hear it. i’m so glad it won best score

I can’t remark on whether The Social Network was good bc I honestly don’t remember it that well but the HTTYD soundtrack is still my go to for writing music (that and Treasure Planet) and when I need to sleep (I’ve got a ‘lullaby’ playlist on spotify and I’ve got half the httyd soundtrack on it) The whole soundtrack is so beautiful.

Also I LOVE Test Drive 😭 I know Forbidden Friendship is everyone’s favorite (and the scene it’s from is arguably the best in the movie) but Test Drive is so good too. I think those two and Romantic Flight are my favorite tracks but honestly the whole thing is golden.

I’m so glad that httyd absolutely definitely won best score for real in real life and not another movie :,))))

@notquitethatmad literally the biggest thing about httyd for me was the music it was so distinctive and stood out sooooo much. Vs the social network I don’t remember any of the music but you play the httyd soundtrack and i immediately recognize it and I’m so salty

@ask-artsy-oncie

fjkhfhdjsks the fact that you had to look it up shows how bs and unbelievable the whole thing is honestly. Everyone was praising the music expecting it to win and then when it didn’t win it was so confusing. Just….? How? I knew it would probably lose best animated cause it was up against pixar (and the academy full out admitted it doesn’t care about animated movies and picks disney/pixar by default) but fuuuuck it lost best score? Bullshit.

And then a few years later I remember they used some of the music during the oscars and I wanted to yell. They’ll use the music but they wouldn’t give it the oscar is deserved.

This is the HTTYD-should-have-won-the-oscar-for-best-score salt club
