Sheith Participation Week

Okay.  Cat’s out of the bag…  I’m a huge Sheith Shipper.  I have hundreds of fics bookmarked.  I’ve made three separate playlists about their epic timeless (sometimes doomed) love.  I rant about them to my sister.  It’s a thing.
With that said…  I have some thoughts.

Day 1: Headcanon
Keith has been in love with Shiro from the moment he saw him fly.  They were friends before, sure.  They’d spar together, run together, bother Matt together.  They’d eat junk food on the roof and quiz each other on the properties of stars that make up their favorite constellations.  But then Shiro found that dirty, busted up hoverbike in the building the Garrison throws all its old machinery for scrap and they fixed it up as best they could with salvaged parts and a whole lot of cut corners…

They took it out on the first clear night in the summer.  Shiro let Keith have the first ride across the open expanse of dirt and dust.  After finding a spot to sit and look at the stars for a while, Shiro took the seat behind the wheel, nodded at the spot behind him, and gave Keith the biggest, toothiest grin he’d ever seen.

There was Shiro, this wonderfully kind and beautiful man, sitting with the stars in his eyes and the universe within his grasp… and Keith was completely gone.  It was as though all those little moments of the last year had just clicked into place in just the right order, forming a solid path that lead right to this moment, to a smile that warmed every single part of Keith that had been cold for as long as he’d ever known.

He drew in the feeling, took his place on the bike, wrapped his arms tightly around Shiro’s middle, and let the desert fly past.
