someone on twitter tweeted mark hamill like “can you dm me and tell me if luke is bisexual” and he actually messaged them and told them that since luke’s sexuality is never addressed in canon, any reading of his sexuality makes sense
then someone made a tweet about how cool it’d be if luke was trans, he liked it, and sent them a message about how a True Jedi TM respects all life, even if the films don’t touch on issues like that
what a sweetheart. he’s liking all these really happy tweets from lgbtq kids saying how much it means to them to be able to see luke as gay, trans etc. it’s just… i’ve been there feeling worried the people you so admire would find you laughable or weird, and i’m super happy about this.
Honestly the fact that the rewrites were based on reactions to the new characters and lucasfilm was “surprised” at how well they were received definitely makes me think stormpilot or at least gay Poe is happening
I can definitely see gay Poe happening now.
Since they said they are making the roles of two new female characters smaller to spend more time with Rey, Poe, Finn and/or Kylo makes me think MAYBE one of those female roles was planned to be Poe’s love interest.
I am kinda sad they are reducing screen time for female characters because Star Wars is severely lacking in that department, but if it means gay Poe might become canon, I will be happier than ever.

When he asks han what he thinks about leia and han’s like i try not to” and luke’s like “good.” then when Han asks luke if he thinks he, Han Solo, might have a chance with leia and he’s immediately like “no.” And doesn’t meet han’s eyes. i guess it could be argued that he says that because he’s got a crush on Leia himself but? he doesn’t lol
2. when han and luke say goodbye to each other in esb and luke starts to say something else but then stops i stggg
3. the whole jedi-training bit where he’s doing flips with yoda on his back and standing on one hand, moving stuff with his mind and shit. straight guys can’t do that
4. when Luke rescues han from jabba the hutt. (a straight guy wouldn’t have done that because then everyone would think he was gay)
don’t attack john boyega for saying poe/finn isn’t “more than a bromance” like… i’m not thrilled with his answer either but he doesn’t have creative control over the movies, he’s not an untouchable legacy cast member like mark hamill, he could be penalized by the Walt Disney Corporation for suggesting his character is gay/bi – i’m already seeing people being like, “wtf john ur not my fave anymore” and like, stop
also worth noting that john was reportedly only paid $100,000 for his work in the force awakens and is currently in the process of renegotiating his contract for episode viii so now is probably not the time to be incurring the wrath of disney by unilaterally declaring finn gay or bi

uh yeah lol it is actually a problem that a young black actor was paid $100,000 for the lead role in a movie with a $200 million budget which went on to gross $1.8 billion worldwide, especially when you consider his white co-stars (i.e., adam driver) earned vastly higher paycheques for vastly less screentime
